It had been a very long year. I was only 24 when
my girl friend died, forcing me to live with family for the
first time since I was nineteen. Along with dealing with my
grief I also found myself faced with the cold hard reality of
personal betrayal. A coworker had found my journals and made
my deepest thoughts public knowledge. I felt alone and lost.
Then I met someone. I was at a local club on Halloween night,
and I found the courage to say “hi” to a woman.
I believe I was guided that night. Over the next month I came
to know that this woman who I experienced incredible personal
energy with, also had another kind of energy flowing through
her. She called it Reiki. When I asked her about it, she said
it was like the Force. “You know like in Star Wars.”
I was intrigued.
I was and still am a big Star Wars fan, and a large part of
the space sagas appeal for me is the very simple way that the
films described the connection between us mere humans and the
Divine. After months of contemplation, I sought out a Reiki
Healer and experienced a beauty and comfort and pleasure from
the energy she channeled through me that I have never felt before.
I wanted to have the energy she shared available to me every
day, so I sought out a Reiki Master to attune me to the energy.
It has been eight years since I was attuned by Reiki Master
Victoria Greene, and my life still has its ups and downs, but
the ride is made easier by the constant reminder that Reiki
provides me that I am not just connected but a part of the divine
energy that surrounds us all.
This fall I decided to help provide a forum for people who
had already experienced the healing powers of Reiki to share
with people in our community who may have had little or no contact
with this connection to the Divine. I have experienced a lot
of Joy and Peace and warmth and comfort and love giving and
receiving Reiki and hope that you will join us on November 23rd.
